When can I call my computer a gaming computer?

Alisia Sutphen: Well technically, there's no sort of official guidelines that constitute a gaming rig, but to answer your question, I'll tell you what I think am average gaming computer might have. The case (not counting cooling), harddrives, and optical disks don't really matter for gaming, so I left them out.Low Tier - can play games decently, may falter on max settings.CPU: Dual Core, no overclockingRAM: 2gb DDR3 1066 or lessMotherboard Chipset: 790X or H55 or H57 or P55Graphics: Radeon 5670Sound: OnboardCooling: Stock cpu, one or two case fansPSU: 400 to 600 wattsMid Tier - can play games with little to no lag maxed outCPU: Dual Core or Triple Core, little to no overclockingRAM: 4gb DDR3 1066 or 1333Motherboard Chipset: 790FX or P55Graphics: Radeon 5850Sound: Low-end Discrete (like Creative Sound Blaster)Cooling: Stock or low-end custom cpu (like Cooler Master Hyper 212), two to three case fansPSU: 500 to 700 wattsHigh Tier can play just about anything maxed outCPU: T! iple or Quad Core, heavy overclockingRAM: 6gb DDR3 1333 or 1600Motherboard Chipset:X58Graphics: Radeon dual 5870s in CF or single 5970Sound: High-End Discrete (like Creative Titanium Fatality)Cooling: Custom cpu (like Thor's Hammer), case is practically a wind tunnel or liquid cooledPSU: 650 to 900 watts...Show more

Jannie Ariola: appears like habo motel to me. its defiantly no longer runescape worldwide of warcraft or something like that. Runescapes Very exciting in the experience that your into Rpg and u % no disk or dowloading to play it.

Wally Perrien: There's no "official" rule for what constitutes a "gaming" computer that's agreed to by all parties. My definition of a gaming computer is one that can play all current games decently well when the computer is built.Any reasonable computer with a half-decent video card (Radeon 4650/GeForce GT240/Geforce 8800/9800) or better pretty much meets my "gaming computer" threshold....Show more

Claire Billegas: a g! aming computer is a computer that can play high resolution gam! es with no lag and a good fps. i would recommend having a core i7 processor, maybe even a core i5 if you overclock it and a dual or triple, high performance graphics card and dual channel ddr3 ram, i highly dout you have a gaming computer because you would have to spend a pretty big sum of money, thats why most people just get a xbox or ps3 for gamign which only costs 300-400$

Luther Plagmann: i would say once your able to play the latest 2009 games and I would consider a great gaming computer if you can play crisis on it

Marquetta Gimm: Anything that can play 2008-2010 games with medium to Full quality, Maxed out graphics with no lag

Tomi Vauters: What are the specs on your desktop ???

Reginald Maxi: It doesn't!
