Frank Gazaway: there most probably isnt gonna be a carfax report on a $500 dollar car especially if its older than Methuselah.But like the beast said in his post your not gonna get much for $500.The best you can hope to get out of that cheap of a car is that the engine and transmission are in decent shape.You can check the oil before the engine is started for water in the oil and vice verse in the coolant you can check for oil.After its started you can watch the exhaust for oil smoke or excessive water.You can drive it and see how the transmission feels if the transmission hesitates after you've pushed the gas or if you feel any kind of slipping while you're driving the tranny's probly on the way out.That's about all you can expect for a $500 c! ar....Show more
