Are there any organizations fighting for motorcycle only lanes on the freeways?

Sharie Sommerville: I have heard it was talked about in the past but is always shot down by the four wheelers. their claim is that every ones tax dollars pay for that lane so why should only a small group be allowed to use it. New Jersey had a HOV lane build on rt 287 a few years ago but people who only had one person in the car (driver only) b!tched about it so much the state took it down. i wish we had our own lane but being realistic it would never happen.

Todd Stogner: Motorcycles are typically single passenger vehicles. If you had to move four people, you would need 4 motorcycles. Combine the gas mileage of these bikes and you see this is not an efficient form of transportation. Also, motorcycles are not environmentally friendly. They have no emissions controls on them. A single motorcycle spews out much more pollution than a single well maintained automobile.Carpooling and public transportation are still the most efficient and environmentally friendly fo! rms of transportation. We should keep the express lanes for these vehicles and leave the motorcycle riding for recreational use....Show more

Robin Weelborg: No. Use the HOV lane. You're talking about a spending tremendous amount of tax money to accomodate people the govt doesn't care about. No lane splitting accidedents in my town. Most MC accidents are drinking or squid related, here....Show more

Brice Greczkowski: I agree with (bluffmike). Wide enough for two = regular size lane.No lane splitting here.Tolls are calculated per AXLE. I pay the same on a motorcycle as I do in the car, or the pickup.Mad Jack- No emission controls? You must have your helmet on backwards! Buy a new one. You'll get emissions so low you can almost suck the pipe! Except for an oxygen deficiency of course....Show more

Gertrude Darke: Q: a bike is what? A: A motor pushed cycle. ask your self this: in case you've been cruising on your go back and forth motorcycle at a whopping 15! mph in the motorcycle lane, ought to you want someone flying ! up in the back of you on a bike doing 50??? that's what you ought to be doing to others. and that i'm sensible the law enforcement officials received't choose you doing it both, yet examine with the DMV ... they are the professionals on the be counted that's in basic terms not preparation by using use of courtroom appearances....Show more

Raelene Cunnick: 2 motorcycles to pass....hmmm two hogs = 1 car...i think the only agency you will find wanting more motorcycles on the road....are organ donor organizations....good luck

Conrad Puleio: We already are allowed to use the HOV lanes - big signs saying busses and motorcycles OK. Do we need or even want a special m/c lane? I don't. I wouldn't want a skinny lane - how would you dodge debris, potholes, or your buddy going down?
