Im selling my car in a different state....?

Claude Gloden: You have to do sign with your mom too on notary office, because the car which you had has titled with your name and your mom's name.So it is better to do sign with your mom also.thank you

Somer Distilo: You both need to sign the title as sellers, and I would get both your signatures notarized. Some states do not need things notarized, others do. So be safe rather than sorry and get your signatures notarized. Getting something notorized won't prevent the buyers from titling and registering the car if it is not required, But if it is required and not notorized, it will prevent them from getting it done. Whoever is buying the car can get an out of state temporary tag from MI DMV to be able to transport the vehicle to AZ. If you are bringing it to AZ, then they can title and register it there. Some states also require a written bill of sale, which also may need to be notorized. Again, be safe rather than sorry and include that letter with year, m! ake serial number, mileage and date of sale that has been notorized when giving them the car and title. Too many people let the new buyers have their license plates. Make sure you remove your plates before letting the car go. Turn in the plates to your local DMV and get a receipt. This proves you have relinquished your plates and sold the car. It relieves you of any responsibility to the vehicle in case something happens like tickets, accidents or violations. If the new owner either waits a long time to title it in their name, or never titles it in their name, at least you will not be held responsible for anything if you have proof that the plates were turned in. As long as the title is in your name (and your mothers name), until the new owner actually titles the car, no state will know the vehicle is sold, or who it is sold to. Turning in your plates and cancelling your insurance verifies the car is no longer yours. It may not prove who owns it, but it proves that! it isn't yours anymore. ...Show more

Amada Greising: W! hen i was a dealer, for the first few years anyway, I was willing to drive my car up to 30 minutes to meet potential buyers. After about 6 such trips, without selling a single car, I realized it was silly of me and I stopped doing it. If a buyer is interested enough, they will find a way. Oh and Im not so sure I would trust that car you found as being real or a good car.

Sharron Salin: It is not possible to sell your car without your mom, because your had titled your car with your name and yours mom.so you need to sign with her before you sell your car.take care, bye
