Tory Clapper: Depends really...We have so called "security guards" at my place of employment, however they do not carry weapons, and are not very intimdating. Your basic run of the mill rent-a-cop..But if you get some type of weapon to defend something, etc then at least there is a chance you might get some entertainment....Show more

Betsey Muehlbach: I think the best thing about the private security business is the variety of jobs available. Depending on your will and desire you can do very little on a back shift without any concerns, you could work low-income housing and make many arrests a night, you can work in the tech industry and study physical security design, etc.The pay and benefits for the private security industry are getting better too. There are still many minimum wage jobs! out there, and there are many jobs that pay over 100k a year.
