Perry Deshazior: glue puzzle pieces to the rim of a picture frame - decorate with jewels or ribbon to make Christmas-y. Super cheap and everyone has a puzzle or two with missing pieces that are no good anyway!
Lu Tiner: This is something I do with my special ed. class for gifts they can give. Take a cup of ground cinnamon, add a tablespoon of applesauce and mix it into a thick dough. Then roll or pat it out about 1/4 inch thick and use Christmas cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Dry the shapes for several days and before they get too dry, make a small hole at the top so you can string a ribbon through and tie it into a bow. You can use these as ornaments or as closet sachets. They smell wonderful for a long time.Or here is another recipe I use to give as gifts:I make up a batch of "simmering potpourri" that I give out in little tins or or those little cheap tiny plastic containers you get at the grocery store. The recipe is:1 spice container each of Nutmeg, Cloves,! Cinnamon, GingerMix all the powders together and package individual portions of powder with several peices of dried orange peels. This can be put in electric potpourri burners or simmered on the stove in a pan. The scent is wonderful and scents the whole house. You can get several portions of this and creative packaging is a must....Show more
