Stanton Valdivia: Is she talking about looking for work to do online, or "virtual school"? Many online programs are nothing more than public school done at home. You are subject to all the public school rules and the local school district will get the same money that they would get if she were enrolled in the brick and mortar school. You can develop your own program and the internet can be a wonderful tool, but it does take a lot of research. I did it like that for most of my son's home school career. When you do it like that home school is just about free, all you need to invest in are your basic school supplies, and ink and paper for your printer. You would also need to get anything you would need to do projects. All in all it was much less expensive for our family to home school than it would have been to send our son to the local public school....Show more
