Mandy Mustaro: My daughter is 3 and will start pre-K in August.
Hal Palowoda: my son will be 3 years old July 18 and he is going to preschool in Aug. i think 3 years of age is good its different for everyone.
Rose Krouse: My kid is 3 years old and she is in Harvard.
Chauncey Williama: i would say most kids start preschool at around 3.
Arnulfo Seegars: I have enrolled my daughter in a Montessori school for 3 half days starting in September when she turns 3. I had her in a daycare when she was 2 and it was awful. I pulled her out and had my mom watch her again. Now I am going to pay more for the Montessori school, but it is a great school and I want her to go to a preschool where she'll actually learn.
Rivka Killmer: i am 17 in 11th next year so... i was 7 in 1st, 6 in K, has 3 years (3, 4, 5) of pre-k
Ronnie Sardi: As a teacher and mother, here is my opinion. Depending on where their birthday falls on in relation to the school year, I am! for holding children back. If they just meet the age requirement for attending preschool, there are so many advantages to holding children back a year. First, your child will be one of the oldest children in the class. As a teacher, I can always tell which children are the oldest in the class. These children are more mature, (and therefore, tend to do better academically), and have better social skills. They are usually more emotionally ready for school as well.Later in their schooling, if your children want to enroll in any competitive activities, such as sports, they will be at an advantage here too. This is because they will more than likely be bigger and a little taller than their classmates. Sports have become very competitive these days and not everybody can make the team. As a mother, I think your son has his whole life to go to school. Keep him at home and let him be your baby for just one more year. My son is going to be 3 on July 28th, and I am not going to enrol! l him in preschool until next year for these exact reasons. Ho! wever, either way you decide to go, you are not going to do any harm to your son....Show more
