Corey Rohleder: Ok, Basically mate, there are two types of fitness with the Royal Marines, the mental and the Physical. If your mentally prepared it will compliment your physical Fitness. First of all start running, try and do a mile in under 9 mins, then as you get fitter, push yourself faster and longer, till the point you are able to do a nine mile run comfortably. Do sit ups and press ups, 40 of each in under two minutes. After you get your fitness up. Start running with a small pack on your back with a little weig! ht, then start running in Army Issue Combat Highs (Boots) this will get you used to running in boots. Just build your fitness up, eat properly and make sure you do your exercises everyday. Start going to a gym and do the weights and machines. Don't neglect your upper body strength. Once you think your fitness is quite high, get yourself on the mountains and in Dartmoor. and do a speed march over the moors. But remember to bear in mind exposure, don't go alone, and map reading skills, let someone know where your going and when your going to be back etc etc. I can give you a few details on the things you might be doing on the courses in more details, or rather the things I did on my courses, but email me for them because it'll take too long to explain on this. Hope this helps a bit. Take care....Show more
